Chris Newman has posted an excerpt from Oriana Fallaci's interview with Yasser Arafat back in 1972. It's quoted in her book, "Interview with History," along with many other fascinating exchanges. (Even back then, by the way, she described Arafat as "hollering and spitting saliva." It's not a recent affect.)No! We don't want peace! We want war, victory. Peace for us means the destruction of Israel and nothing else. That which you call peace, is peace for Israel and the imperialists. For us it is injustice and shame. We will fight until we achieve victory. Decades if necessary, generations.
